Mark A. Hazard, 2nd Dan
Mr. Hazard is the owner/operator of his own licensed landscaping business (Mark’s Landscaping) since 1988 as well as being an instructor and licensed cosmetologist and a self-defense instructor. In 1982, he competed in a local "Tough Man" competition. It was that experience that brought Mr. Hazard to the martial arts. He began his studies in the martial arts in 1982 under Master Instructor Michael R. March and earned his 1st Dan Black Belt in 1987. He has taught classes in both Moo Do Kwan~Tang Soo Do as well as the art of Self-Defense. The knowledge Mark gained from his studies of the martial arts taught him a way of life and values that have followed him throughout his adulthood. He has utilized those skills, became a successful businessman owning his own company, and continues to find time to share his wealth of martial arts and self defense knowledge. Mr. Hazard travels around Michigan and other states teaching the skills of self defense. His insight and skills have evolved from years of practical experience and his knowledge of the laws governing the use of force. In addition to Jacob's three times-a-week classroom training with Master Instructor March, Mr. Hazard began personally mentoring Jacob in the winter of 2004. He provided Jacob with individualized training in sparring, forms, and weapons. They trained at all hours of the day and night with Mr. Hazard devoting nearly all of his free time and sharing his knowledge selflessly right up to the time the testing began on August 13, 2005. While the training is not as intense as it had been, Mr. Hazard continues to regularly share his knowledge and life lessons with Jacob. | ||||||||
